most ucw apps are, afaik, intranet only web applications. the major
exception to this is animaliter.it which is, unfortunetly for you, in
italian. i have another project using ucw, in english, but to get at
the cool ucw-ness requires a 500euro/year subscription fee and they
would boil me alive if i gave out the developer and testing
accounts...

as far as showcasing ucw's features the examples are actually pretty
good (if a bit trivial), if anyone else has a public ucw app i'd be
happy to hear about it.
