Well, in does infact work wonders when you stay within it's world.. it's
when mixing things up (which, as a ucw user, we must) that it starts to
have problems. The problems c-l-c solve are not those of a lisp
developer, but rather those trying to package these things as part of a
distribution.
As an SBCL user, you are also going to want to stay current, which means
that you will probably install the latest sbcl. Unless you want to
create a .deb and update all the c-l-c installed libraries to ones that
work with the latest, you are stuck installing all the libraries by hand
anyway.
So, i was a bit harsh on c-l-c, it's a good system for what it tries to
do, which is a cross-lisp application delivery type thing.. but as a
developer it tends to get in the way.
