Quoth the docstring of slime-read-interactive-args:

- If the prefix-arg is `-', prompt for one of the registered
  lisps.

There is just one small problem with this: There is no way (that I
know of) to get a prefix arg on an emacs running under a tty.

How about changing the condition to include any negative argument?

This bites me just often enough to be annoying.
