Well, Berkeley DB isn't under the GPL per se but that's not really the
important point. Even Version 2 of the GPL (which is what everyone
uses) has no clause about releasing source code for a service/website.
It's only shipped products (not services) that must publish their
source if they are using GPL licensed software.
Version 3 of the GPL does have some clauses around service/website
usage but that's not yet finalized.
