Just fixed two more problems related to the Microsoft Compiler (it
does not seem to have a reasonable support for bitfields) and set the
automated tests up and running.

It would be nice if people could find some flags that make this C
compiler a bit more silent.

Regarding the mingw + threads problem, I have been told by the
maintainers of the garbage collector that we should upgrade to 7.2a2 I
am definitely not move to use an alpha release of the collector, but
if you really need that platform, it should contain full support for
mingw32.
