[Ecls-list] SERIES still can't compile (0.9j)

I tried compiling SERIES again with the latest from CVS.  This time it  
gets a different error from the COMPILER-LET form:

   In form
   (#1=(SERIES::*OPTIMIZE-SERIES-EXPRESSIONS* T))
   FUNCTION: Not a valid argument #1#.
      [Condition of type SI:SIMPLE-PROGRAM-ERROR]

Any chance of making this library compile?  I'd be happy to help  
however I can, but I admit my compiler-level macro trickery hat is a  
bit small...
