It seems to be the same as
http://www.opensource.org/licenses/UoI-NCSA.php
which is listed
http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/license-list.html#ModifiedBSD
as being GPL compatible.

So, I guess it's mainly an issue of aesthetics, unless I've misread something.
