[clo-devel] cl-net upgrading update [2011-04-02]

Hans and I discussed the mailer setup off-list. So that's solved now.
However, nobody commented on this section of the mail below. I'd like
to have some feedback/thoughts on the "this bit needs more thought"
part directly below the numbered list.
