sbcl needs :element-type :default (or not specified at all) for
bivalent streams.

if only i had the nerves to debug this cl-pdf version i have that i've
converted to use fully binary streams...

it runs fine, but the resulting pdf is bugous. i must have screwed up
some write call when converted it... :(
