Thanks, you are a lifesaver!  Call me an idiot, but I didn't think it would
make a difference where you instantiate an image, if you still have to call
add-images-to-page for every page.  But fortunately, it's counter-intuitive in
this case.  I've just halved my pdf size, much to the relief of our CEO.
