I'd say that your two obvious options are to use references that Hunchentoot has been configured to resolve, or to configure Hunchentoot to handle the urls that you want to use.

In case that wasn't clear enough: the mechanisms that you use to tell Hunchentoot where to find "/test" will not automatically figure out what you mean by "/~/mystyle.css".
