That's what I thought at first... but when I realised that the problem only
occurs at the load'ing stage, I realised that it has nothing to do with Emacs.
Using Emacs/SLIME/SWANK to re-evaluate the code just happened to fix it, but it
wasn't causing it.
Anyway, the problem doesn't occur on my production box (SBCL in Debian Lenny)
so it's not a major issue... something (the gods only know what) to do
with... something else!
