There's no "official" way, but you can look at the code for
MAYBE-REWRITE-URLS-FOR-SESSION.  It does the following:

  1. Check if *REWRITE-FOR-SESSION-URLS* has a true value.

  2. Check if the browser has sent a cookie with the name
     *SESSION-COOKIE-NAME*.

  3. Use the value (TBNL::SESSION-COOKIE-VALUE)
