Apologies for the long silence on this topic - I had other pressing matters
to deal with. I still cannot connect to the swank server from Emacs.

To summarize: Based on my tests (which are detailed below), I can connect
to the swank server as tested via telnet. But emacs is still failing to
connect to swank. I did some debugging and identified that
make-network-process is timing out.

I will start another thread on the topic of figuring out why
make-network-process is timing out.

Martin, many thanks for helping me out so far.

Here is my test procedure:

1 Establish tunnel
