I have the following in my .emacs file to switch back and forth between
(any) two buffers with C-M-l:

(defun back-forth ()
  "Switch to previous buffer."
  (interactive)
  (switch-to-buffer (other-buffer)))

(global-set-key "\C-\M-l" 'back-forth)
