SWANK::DISPATCH-EVENT should probably involve some hook like
slime-dispatch-event does. In CL, it could just involve a generic
function so contribs can add methods eql-specizializing on an event's
name.

This sounds like a long-time bug that is also shown by the
`repl-type-ahead' test failing at the moment (IIRC) in combination with
presentations.
