[slime-devel] slime with clisp 2.35 on win xp startup problems

Hi all, I get the following error when starting slime.

At this point the message Polling
"c:/DOCUME~1/David/LOCALS~1/Temp/slime.7108" blinks on and off in the
minibuffer until cancelled with slime-abort-connection.

Any hints as to how I can resolve this?
