  I'm not sure they can release the code. It all depends on the
original license terms. They code is copyrighted by over a half dozen
companies, most of which don't exist any more. [Just because the
companies don't exist, doesn't mean that someone doesn't own the
rights. Most likely a lawyer!!]

  I tried to work with Franz years ago to release a copy of their
version but I never even got a response to my enquiry.
