i think i've made the following refactoring in flexml due to the error
you experience:

i've quickly tried to update flexml.lisp from cl-l10n into verrazano
just now, but i failed in the 5 mins patience i had for this.

unfortunately verrazano is still only proof-of-concept quality, and i
personally would need some strong pressure (read: paying project or
something very interesting) to work on it.

the first would be to refactor to generate cffi-wrapper definitions.
