Is Elephant incompatible with BDB 4.5? That could be part of the problem,
since it sounds like Plamen is trying to use 4.5.

Are you a position to build the DLLs yourself?

I can provide up-to-date binaries for BDB 4.7, although I seem to be getting
errors compiling Elephant with SBCL. (More on that in a separate thread.)
