Glenn has nearly migrated Elephant and ELE-BDB to CFFI, so
this probably won't be an issue in the mid-term.

I'm surprised that CFFI-UFFI works for you with Elephant.
Perhaps the CFFI guys fixed some bugs since I last tried it.
