Ok, it seems that the GC maintainers' suggestion is that we do our own release cycle of their software, testing and packaging it. Since this is not my job, I have chosen a compromise:<div><br></div><div>- ECL ships with two versions of the garbage collector, 7.1 and CVS-unstable</div>
<div>- The last one is only activated for OS X Lion. This is chosen at configuration time.</div><div><br></div><div>This means my previous instructions become obsolete. You simply have to configure and build ECL as usual. It is recommended, though, to change compiler supplying the flag CC=gcc-4.2 to ECL at configuration time -- I am afraid the performance of the LLVM compiler is not yet on par with GCC and ECL misses some optimizations.</div>
<div><br></div><div>As usual, all the updates are available from CVS/git.</div><div><br></div><div>Juanjo</div><div><div><br></div>-- <br>Instituto de Física Fundamental, CSIC<br>c/ Serrano, 113b, Madrid 28006 (Spain) <br>
