The platform is a debian OS running on AMD64 ; the configuration line is:
         ./configure $(confflags) \
            --prefix=/usr --mandir=\$${prefix}/share/man \
            --infodir=\$${prefix}/share/info \
            --with-system-gmp=yes \
            --with-tcp \
            --with-clx  \
            --enable-threads=yes \
            --enable-boehm=system  \
            --with-x

where:
confflags = --build i486-linux-gnu
