When I started work on a new pkgsrc stub for it I realized that a
compiling bug occurs when building without the unicode option.  Is
unicode now necessary, meaning I should now simply remove that from the
pkgsrc options so that it's always built with it?  But if it is the
case, perhaps that the option should also be taken out from the
configure script?
