[Ecls-list] OS X Lion, again

Another problem: the GC maintainers have now put locks in read-only
functions, which is stupid and this breaks TIME and other functions that
depend on garbage collector profiling. I have fixed this but will have to
wait until tonight so that I can upload the patches.
