I happened to come across this paper from Giuseppe Attardi from a while
back (1994):

http://delivery.acm.org/10.1145/1380000/1379849/p30-attardi.pdf?key1=1379849&key2=8214688621&coll=GUIDE&dl=GUIDE&CFID=82393550&CFTOKEN=40311274

In it, it states on page 7:
"In this model control flow proceeds normally through function calls,
unless the program requests access to its continuation. It can then
decide whether it wants to resume such continuation at the
end...Continuations are first-class objects which can be passed as
arguments or returned as values from functions."

I was just vaguely wondering if there was really native support for
continuations in ecl lisp once upon a time and if so what happened to
them...
