Sorry for the inconvenience. This behavior of the reader is required for
loading FASL files. Otherwise there is no way we can reconstruct symbols
before the FASL begins to be executed. However, this behavior is switchable
and should not be active at the toplevel or when loading text files. I will
look into that.
