After doing a bit of git bisect I found that the offending commit
which breaks threaded buildis:

d916ff8349c7acc11dfbf724b891ccaf62343798 is first bad commit
commit d916ff8349c7acc11dfbf724b891ccaf62343798
Author: Juan Jose Garcia Ripoll <jjgarcia at jjgr.(none)>
Date: Sat Oct 25 20:49:00 2008 +0200

Replaced EXT:SET-STACK-SIZE with the pair EXT:SET/GET-LIMIT which
also allows to adjust the heap size.
