It is definitely an improvement. Some random remarks:

* hard coding a width in pixels is generally a bad idea. Something like
80% will probably give better results for the broad masses?

* looks too purple'ish to me. It might look friendlier (and more
professional) using a light color theme. common-lisp.net style perhaps?
