It worked fine for me (as of two weeks ago when my motherboard fried) on 
a Gentoo 64 bit system. The only outstanding issue that I had 
encountered was with (random) giving bad results. I added some casts to 
advance_random_state() in src/c/num_rand.d and that seemed to clear 
things up.
