Great, this is really nice!

It built and runs fine on NetBSD x86 2.0.2, NetBSD macppc 2.0.2, NetBSD Mac68k current,
NetBSD sparc current, and FreeBSD 5.4 sparc64.  

The startup time on my ancient 68k system went from 123 cpu secs down to 23 cpu 
secs!

I'm still exploring why on sparc and m68k GMP doesn't quite work, but, this
is a minor issue.
