Are you sure you have an up to date source tree? And did you build ECL 
from scratch? Your problem seems related to the new character names (ECL 
now has names for all non-printable characters), but this feature was 
implemented one week ago and all bugs fixed. Furthermore, I cannot 
reproduce this error with any of the machines from Sourceforge. I 
suspect you need to either run "./config.status", or empty your "build" 
directory and reconfigure ECL. Tell me your configuration arguments if 
this does not work.
