Leslie From david at lichteblau.com Mon Nov 3 20:30:02 2008 From: david at lichteblau.com (David Lichteblau) Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2008 21:30:02 +0100 Subject: [clbuild-devel] Various patches pushed Message-ID: <20081103203001.GA12392@lanthan.ununoctium.lichteblau.com> Hi, all patches from Albert's repository should now be on common-lisp.net. Please test. I've also applied and pushed various other patches from the list. If I missed any patches, please let me know (unless someone else already submitted a similar patch and I happened to choose that one over yours). Finally, I'd like to discuss our handling of the file `dependencies': Perhaps my own workflow is at fault here, but I'm often getting conflicts in that file. So I'd like to ask contributors to submit patches that change only the project lists themselves, and to record `dependencies' separately (if at all). For patches on the list, you wouldn't have to submit that `dependencies' patch, since it usually won't apply cleanly anyway. (Of course, when you put up your own repository for pulling, you'd probably want to record a `dependencies' update after applying changes.) That way, patch "integrators" can cherry-pick project changes and regenerate `dependencies' independently. Thanks, d. But that doesn't seem to stop me building weblocks. What command are you using to build weblocks? None of the following cause this error for me. clbuild recompile weblocks clbuild dumpcore weblocks (require :weblocks) -- from SBCL. If you don't really need a custom core, the recommended method to compile and load a system is via: (asdf:operate 'asdf:load-op 'ENTER-NAME-OF-SYSTEM-HERE) SBCL will also accept (require 'ENTER-NAME-OF-SYSTEM-HERE). -- Daniel White From kzar at kzar.co.uk Sat Nov 15 14:50:08 2008 From: kzar at kzar.co.uk (David Barker) Date: Sat, 15 Nov 2008 14:50:08 -0000 (UTC) Subject: [clbuild-devel] [cl-markdown-devel] Problem installing Weblocks In-Reply-To: References: <54087.217.33.219.137.1225118660.squirrel@hardwick.demon.co.uk> <20081027145704.GC19484@radon> <40358.192.9.200.97.1225133594.squirrel@starbug> <20081027193249.GD19484@radon> <53242.192.9.200.97.1225141559.squirrel@starbug> <38572.192.9.200.97.1225149019.squirrel@starbug> <51053.217.33.219.137.1225201800.squirrel@hardwick.demon.co.uk> <20081028140108.GA8678@radon> <53015.217.33.219.137.1225214159.squirrel@hardwick.demon.co.uk> <40498.192.9.200.97.1225749875.squirrel@starbug> <20081104161252.41e4b342@whitehouse.id.au> <47788.192.9.200.97.1225837529.squirrel@starbug> <54113.192.9.200.97.1226616179.squirrel@starbug> Message-ID: <48086.192.9.200.97.1226760608.squirrel@starbug> Hi Daniel, That did it, adding "(require :docudown)" to the top of /usr/src/clbuild/source/cl-containers/cl-containers-documentation.asd and trying the dump again worked. It would be much nicer to specify the implementation from the command-line. As a first step towards that, I'd like a command like $ ./clbuild lisp ccl to have the intended effect. However, this would break backwards comparability, as the current state forwards any additional command line token directly to the implementation. A patch implementing this (and which has an incredibly bad name) was pushed into an experimental repo here: http://darcs.moltkeplatz.de/clbuild The patch also contains rudimentary support for ECL. Okay, patch applied. But the other lines have the same problem. If any of mcclim, clg, eclipse, or cffi aren't installed, there's a broken symlink. Personally I would strongly prefer that over the original patch, > because there are so many commands that end up running the lisp > implementation, and it would be weird to have only "clbuild lisp" take > an argument and not all the other commands. True, I changed that. $ ./clbuild --implementation sbcl COMMAND is now legal for the whole set of commands. Someone with better English skills than me please have a look at the documentation I added to the long-help output. Would the following: clbuild --implementation LISP_IMPLEMENTATION COMMANDS+ Be better as: clbuild --implementation LISP_IMPLEMENTATION COMMAND... Which seems to be the preferred method of specifying a required parameter that can have multiple values. I'm largely wondering wondering because this seems to be the same sort of style that the documentation uses. -- Daniel White From daniel at whitehouse.id.au Sun Nov 30 07:52:10 2008 From: daniel at whitehouse.id.au (Daniel White) Date: Sun, 30 Nov 2008 17:52:10 +1000 Subject: [clbuild-devel] *.asd file In-Reply-To: <20081129105840.GA20519@radon> References: <391934950811260723v32a7896fucd9492a2d4a7b4f1@mail.gmail.com> <20081129154415.0431cb51@whitehouse.id.au> <20081129105840.GA20519@radon> Message-ID: <20081130175210.62291f59@whitehouse.id.au> On Sat, 29 Nov 2008 11:58:40 +0100 David Lichteblau wrote: > Okay, patch applied. > > But the other lines have the same problem.
