[cl-pdf-devel] Fonts?

I'm sorry I'm such a typographical illiterate; this may be a silly 
question but here goes: can cl-pdf use OpenType fonts?

I really don't understand how all the different styles of fonts relate 
to each other .ttf vs .dfont vs PostScript vs OpenType. I vaguely 
understand that some of these are packaging technologies for the others 
but I can't keep track which are which.
