At the moment, you might try running with gobject::*debug-gc* set to T
gobject::*debug-subclass* :
(asdf:oos 'asdf:load-op :cl-gtk2-gtk)
(setf gobject::*debug-gc* t gobject::*debug-subclass* t)
(gtk-demo:demo)
and see what messages are printed.
