Yes, unicode works with UTF-8...
No, i didn't ask the guys at libgd ... as i haven't tried antialiasing 
out of cl-gd ...

I haven't checked.  I currently don't have a project that uses CL-GD
myself.

ISTR the last time we talked about this I proposed to ask the libgd
developers.  Did you?
