Thanks for all the input.

I've decided to make sbcl bomb out when having :sb-threads and running 
on 2.4 or when NPTL is not available. (see patch)

I've decided to have a seperate sarge24 (and hoary24) directory on the 
p.d.o repository with a sbcl without threading.
