I think that you'd be repeating what's done in araneida and aserve, that is, 
wasting time in codding something that was already codded.
Maybe an option would be to choose either araneida or aserve, whatever is best 
from your perspective, as the default backend and claim it as a dependency of 
UCW (that's not bad, it's easy to install araneida or aserve, and asdf makes 
it easier).
That's my point of view.
