unfortunetly doing that changes the way the html is output. some
browsers (ie on mac in particular) are whitespace sensitive in odd,
suprising and rather abritrary ways. 

the _only_ way to indent html without changing the way its rendered
(and with giving indentor a doop understanding of html itself) is to
put the indentation with the tags themselves (i'd _love_ to be proven
wrong on this).
