Yes, that's correct.  I'm not sure that this is the most elegant
solution, as I didn't get too much into the detail of the code other
than to note that there was consistently an extra newline at the
beginning of the file, and to think that one possible reason could be
the way the HTTP response was parsed.  I would have liked to test it
out in other LISP implementations, but clisp is the only one that I've
ever gotten to run on this particular platform I'm currently running.
I should also note that the version of asdf-install used is the one at
this link: http://common-lisp.net/project/asdf-install/asdf-install_latest.tar.gz
