Subject: [asdf-install-devel] ASDF on SBCL/Windows

I've had no luck using asdf-install with the windows port of SBCL.
Whenever using asdf-install, it hangs when trying to unpack compressed
zip files (even using Cygwin).

The method I've found that works is to:
1) Download the tar archive to the SBCL installation directory (e.g.
C:\Program Files\Steel Bank Common Lisp\1.06)
2) Decompress and extract the archive
3) Rename the extracted folder to the name of the package
(iterate-1.4.3 -> iterate)

Then fire up SBCL to test the package.  I don't know about installing
packages in a location other than SBCL_HOME.

Anyway, just a footnote for your tutorial.

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for your report and fix. I've now got Parallels set up on my  
OS X box so I have some hope of actually being able to test and work  
with asdf-install on Windows... I'm very pressed for time at the  
moment so it happen as quickly as I'd like.
