 (as mentioned in <irc:freenode:#abcl> by Ferada: the fix would be to
 replace the Debug.assertTrue() with code that throws a proper Lisp ERROR.

 In general, the Debug.assertTrue() instances in the codebase should be
 audited, and replaced where possible.
