The new ASDF (aka ASDF2) comes with its own version of 
ASDF-BINARY-LOCATIONS, which it supercedes.  So, if we can integrate 
ASDF2—which I intend to do—we'll have binary locations.  They're a 
little different than previous behavior, but immensely more 
configurable, so I assume you can get them to emulate the current 
implementation that you are using.
