Should tests leave temp files behind?
on one hand, it seems wrong, especially if our expectation is that
almost certainly all tests will succeed.
on the other hand, these files could be useful for debugging,
especially if we expect some tests to fail.
I think that tests should remove temp files, and if the files are
somehow deemed useful for debugging, the test may be modified by the
user by hand.
of course, if some people like the current behavior, we could add a
user variable...
