BTW, is there some clever use for the symbol-macro versions? The let versions allow compact expression of calculating IT just once, but the motivation for the symbol-macro versions is not obvious to me. Partly they are "cleverness looking for a use", and partly they can be used for stuff like: (sunless (gethash hash x) (setf it default)) Cheers, -- Nikodemus
